The river channel upstream of the Great Ocean Road bridge is very wide, see attached photo. The water has backed up in the estuary because there hasn't been much rain to carry the backed up water out to sea. Large high tides have added to the amount of water in the upper section of the estuary. There is a large amount of sand deposited on the beach and it is going to be interesting to see whether we will be taking berm readings this Summer. The river channel is tracking parallel to the Great Ocean Road and the flow is low.
